Deacon Joe Lewis Roberts lived his life in service to others. He spent many&hours helping people whether church members, family, friends, or evenstrangers with whatever needed to be done, and he did so with a cheerfulheart and a huge smile. He passed from labor to reward on June 13, 2022after an extended illness.

Deacon Joe was born on December 1, 1940 in Riceboro,Georgia to the lateLewis and Matilda Howard Roberts. He was educated in the Liberty CountySchool System, and at an early age joined First Zion Baptist Church. He later joined KingdomChurch of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord and served as aDeacon until his passing. He worked as a logger first for Lambert LoggingCompany for many years and then moved with Southeast Logging where heworked until he retired. He was self employed, Roberts Cleaning service formany years. In 1968, he united in matrimony to the love of his life, EvaMae Holmes.

Those left to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Eva Mae,whom he affectionately calls "Doll Baby", one son, Deacon Joe B. Robertsand a grandson Justin R. West whom he raised from a child, five daughters,Whilmenia H. Roberts, who preceded him in death (Donald), Pastor Johnnie Mae Fleming (Pastor William) of Midway Ga, Emma Jean Ward (Ralph),District Missionay Jacqueline Jones, both of Riceboro, Ga., and Kindra Tukes(Marcus) of Stockbridge, Ga. Five Sisters, Rosa L Waye, Cynthia Roberts and Virginia Wallace, all of Riceboro, Ga, Elouise Chapman (James) ofJacksonville, Fl, and Francis Davis of Savannah, Ga. One brother, LawrenceRoberts of Riceboro, Ga. Four brothers in law, Robert Lee Gibson, of NewYork, Jerome Gibson (Wanda), of Riceboro, Ga, Jerry Gordon (Dorothy),
Hinesville, Ga, Wilbert Gordon (Betty) Savannah, Ga. Seven sisters in law,Diane Felder, Missouri Euley (Johnny), Pastor Katie Mae Gordon, YvonneKelly, Janette Peterson, Charlie Mae Gordon all of Riceboro Ga, JoanEvans, (James) of Hinesville, Ga., one uncle, Alfred Holmes, Fernandina, Fl, Eighteen grandchilden, forty-three great grand, a spiritual daughter andcaregiver, Missonary Patricia Fleming (Prophet Lawrence), three spiritualsons, Bro Joe Roberts (Pauline) Elder Julian Button (Daisy) Deacon Kenneth
Sanders (Laura), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and faithful friends.
