Obituary

James Kevin Hurt was born on March 22, 1956 to James Clark and Ruth Jean Hurt.& He was the 1stof 8 children. James' earthly journey ended on Saturday, February 17, 2024 as he was surroundedby his children, and grandchildren who were lovingly by his side in his final days.


James was educated in the St. Louis public schools' system.


He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at East Union MB Church under the leadership of Rev. Fred Adams Sr. He loved to serve in church. At the time of his death, he was a member of True Light MB Church under the leadership of Pastor Keith Bernard Pendilton.


Kevin went into the Army and served his country. He worked for the VA in the Health Administration services dep., as an Advanced Medical support Assistant. He loved his work family and enjoyed helping fellow veterans.


He was deeply involved in his community, donated to his political party, very active in his Masonic order as the Worshipful Master of Lambskin 165, as well as heavily involved in the NA/AA organization. He frequently chaired meetings and helped those on the road to recovery.


Kevin was a family man who worked tirelessly to provide for them. He will be sorely missed and well-remembered for his famous saying, Peace Love and Light...In a Minute.


He leaves to cherish his memory, a wife Belinda, 3 daughters, Marilyn Hicks (James) of Hinesville GA, Chenika Hurt of Suwon, South Korea, Catherine Alexander (Damion), Mother Ruth Jean Wilson,3 Brothers, Bennie, Curtis (Omeika) and Terrence (Flora), 4 sisters, Garnet, Tammy (Henry) Louise (Vernon deceased), Sandra, and Jada. Sisters Susie (Jack) and Angelicka preceded him in death. 5 grandsons, Justin (Aulicia) of Hinesville GA, Kevin of Lexington KY, and James III of Hinesville, GA. Grand Children, Mila and Tony. 3 Great-grandchildren, Kevin Jr, Khamilah, Asionna. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
