October 19, 1953 – October 11, 2021
Hortense Harris was born on October 19, 1953 to the late James and Violet Austin in Miami, FL.
&She received her early education through the Miami Dade School system. She later went off to Job Corps in Atlanta, GA where she obtained her GED. Upon returning to Miami she began working as a CNA with theelderly for several years. She found joy, pleasure and love while working and helping others.

Also overcame being in a coma for four months, having to learn how to walk and talk again, just shows you how strong her will was to live.
In 1988 Tense met and fell in love with her soulmate, Chuck. They vowed to love each other through sickness and in health. And they did just that for over 31 years. Tense and Chuck both faithfully took care of Silver Blue Lakes Missionary Baptist Church for many years by helping to keep the grounds and building clean. They loved feeding anyone that was hungry or in need of a good meal because Chuck loved to cook. And they were well known in Silver Blue Lakes where she and Chuck lived for almost 30 years.
On October 11, 2021 God saw her pain and heard her cry and decided to call her, and he said "Well done my good and faithful servant, come home and take your rest." So, she took his hand and crossed over putting on her white robe and crown. May her soul REST IN PEACE.
