Walthour
November 25, 1964 – November 5, 2024
Hiroe Walthour (59) passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Despite being born and
raised in Hiroshima, Japan, she followed her lifelong dream of moving to America,
eventually making Midway, Georgia her permanent home. She was a dedicated wife of 25
years to Nathaniel C. Walthour Jr and an amazing mother of four.
Hiroe led a selfless and joyful life endowed with grace and peace. Her positive energy
and sharp intellect radiated into every task she undertook from supporting her family to
her personal ambitions of becoming a world-renowned writer and translator.
Before embarking on her life-altering journey across the Pacific, Hiroe obtained her
credentials from the Japanese school system and later pursued foreign language in Kyoto.
Despite facing many barriers and obstacles, she followed her heart and allowed God to
pave a way for her to mold the foundation of her life as well as her legacy.
She is survived by her husband (Nathaniel), 4 children (Tiffany Gordon, Marcus Gordon,
Mylette Gordon, & Christopher Walthour), 8 grandchildren (Jaylen, James, Marisa,
London, Jordan, Malakiy, Isaiyah, and one yet to arrive), mother (Fumie Hanamitsu), and
