Herbert D. Smith was born on April 5, 1962 in Hinton W.V from Doug & Geneva Smith who was married for over 40 years and had a total of 12 children together. He went to Hinton High School where he enjoyed playing sports, but his passion was football and he was very good at it still to this day he holds records and photos of clips and games that hold to this date.

During this time he had met his high school sweetheart Martha Ann Bond who he married on June 2, 1986 and stayed married for a total of 27 years. During this time he served in the military for a total of 20+ years until he retired with a honorable discharge from Fort Stewart Army Base in Hinesville, GA. He was a family man who enjoyed being a proud Army Veteran. His hobby's were Football, Cooking, Traveling, Gardening, and being a person that his family and friends could count on. Him and his loving memories are survived by; Two sons; Jerrell and Montez Smith, Five Grandkids; Jynez, Romel, Montez, Jr., Adreanna, and Imani Chanel; Three Great Grandkids; Greyson, Averie, and Kamdyn, Three Brothers; Billy Ray Smith, Lewis D. Smith, and younger brother Tracy D. Smith, Three Sisters; Phillis Jean Smith, Rebecca Sue Smith, and younger sister Linda Lue Smith, and Twenty two nephews and nieces.&
