In Loving Memory of
Helena Patricia LeCounte
August 7, 1953 – September 5, 2026
Helena Patricia LeCounte was born on August 7, 1953, to the late Herbert(Sheppard) LeCounte and Marie Fagan LeCounte. At an early age, Helena dedicated her life to Christ and carried her faith with her throughout her life.
Helena began her education in the Liberty County Public Schools before moving with her family to Savannah, Georgia. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1971. Following high school, Helena attended Tennessee State University and Spelman College before transferring to the University of Georgia. In 1975, she proudly graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, Speech Pathology and Audiology. After graduating from the University of Georgia, Helena furthered her education, at the Georgia State University. She received her Master of Science Degree in Speech Pathology in 1977.
After completing her education, Helena returned home to Savannah, Georgia, where she began her career as a Speech Pathologist. Through her profession, she was able to serve others with compassion, patience, and dedication.
Helena was also a devoted woman of faith and became a member of St. Paul CME Church of Savannah, where she continued to grow in her relationship with Christ and fellowship with others.
As Helena's health began to decline, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to be closer to her sisters, Angela and Sandra. For 11 years, Angela and Sandra lovingly cared for and supported Helena, providing her with unwavering love, comfort, and devotion. Their dedication to their sister was a beautiful testament to the strength of what family really looks like being humble servants.
On the evening of Saturday, September 5, 2026, God called His beloved child, Helena Patricia LeCount, home to eternal rest. Though she will be deeply missed, her family and loved ones can find comfort in knowing that her life was filled with faith, family, education, service, and love.
Helena was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert LeCounte and Marie Fagan LeCounte.
She leaves to cherish her memory two brothers and six sisters: Herbert LeCounte of Miami, Florida; Patricia (Randolph) Wynn of Brunswick, Georgia; Sharon (Harvey) Williamson of Fortson, Georgia; Margaret (Jeffery) Johnson of Swedesboro, New Jersey; Angela (Rupert) Wiley of Conyers, Georgia; Sandra (Jeffery) Blue of Decatur, Georgia; and Micheal LeCounte of Woodbury, New Jersey. Helena also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
Helena's presence touched the lives of many. Her love for her family, commitment to her faith, dedication to her career, and caring spirit will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
Though she has departed this earthly life, Helena Patricia LeCounte will forever live in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved her.
