Gloria Ann
Harari
May 7, 1948 – July 21, 2023
Gloria Harari was born to James and Beatrice Ryals on May 7, 1948 in Brooklyn NY. She graduated from Eastern District HS in 1966.. She loved sports as a teenager. She often spoke of playing basketball and handball. She also loved to play checkers and tried to teach some of her great grands along the way. Gloria, Gypsy as her friends called her, held several jobs. The two most important to her were Bank Leumi and lastly with the NYC Transit Authority.
They say Papa was a rolling stone, well Gypsy didn't let moss grow on her either. She lived in several places around NYC and at one time in Poughkeepsie NY. She spent a short time in Florida and in 2004 she moved to Georgia. Gloria was a longtime teachers' assistant in Georgia. She also worked as a poll worker for many years, a position she loved. Gloria also loved sewing and knitting. She could whip up an outfit in no time flat. When something needed fixing we always took it to her. She was famous for making scarves and hats for people and blankets for newborns.
After a long illness, Gloria, at age 75, made her transition on July 21, 2023. She was surrounded by her daughters and sisters and a niece. She went very peacefully and enveloped in love.
