Gilbert N. Harris was born on April 19, 1940, to the parentage of Lankford Harris and Nonia (Steel) Harris in Moulton, Alabama. He departed from this earthly life on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Gilbert gave his life to Christ at an early age. He received his education in the Lawrence County School System in Moulton, Alabama. Upon completion of high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for 21 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired as First Sergeant/E8. During his time in the military, he received numerous awards and recognitions. Following his retirement from the military, he was employed for many years by the State of Georgia.
Gilbert's final duty station was Fort Stewart, Georgia, where he met his Lady Love, Carrie L. Roberts. They were married for 48 wonderful years.
Gilbert was preceded in death by one daughter, Lynn Roberts. Everlasting memories created with Gilbert are left to be cherished by his wife Evangelist Carrie R. Harris; four daughters Evangelist Delane D. Smith (Larry), Nina Mitchell, Marilyn J. Crenshaw, and Sarah L. Roberts; one sister Betty Jo King; three brothers-in-laws, Elder Curtis Roberts (Florence), Aaron Roberts (Judy), and Elder Alphonso Roberts (Samantha); three sisters-in-laws, Princess J. Golphin, Ethel L. Cummings, and Sandra Campbell; Fifty plus grands, great grands, great great grands and a host of other relatives and friends.
