Freddie Lee Holmes, 64, of Hinesville, GA departed this life and went home to be with the Lord, Thursday September 3, 2026. Freddie was a 1980 graduate of West Laurens High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army for 13 years. Upon leaving the army, he worked as a correctional officer. Later he decided to become a truck driver for Schneider for many years. Freddie was predeceased by his dad Levi Holmes in 1994, his mother Gladys Holmes in 2008, his brother John Holmes, and grandson Malcolm Holmes Jr. Freddie will be remembered mostly for his humble spirit. Freddie leaves behind his three children Demario Wright (Casey) of McRae, GA, Malcolm
Holmes of Arizona, and Vernita Holmes of Brunswick, GA. His three sisters Evelyn Allen of Syracuse, Dorothy Judon of Atlanta, and Viola Franklin(William) of Newton, MS, three brothers Woodrow Holmes(Barbara), Levi Holmes(Patricia) both of Syracuse, and Wonzie Holmes of Dublin, GA, Sister-In-Law Teresa Holmes, his best friend Andrew Sykes, a very special friend, Bridget Yokley of North Carolina, three grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his extended sister Mrs. Kim and a host of friends.
