Evelyn Reed daughter of the late Gladys Davis was born 24
February 1946 in Liberty Country, Georgia. She was educated in
Liberty County public schools.
She was married to the late Ulysses Reed and from that union
one child was born, Samantha L. Reed. In 1982 she was blessed
with a son, John A. Aikens.

Evelyn attended Savannah Vocational Technical school and had
various occupations however, cherished spending time making
floral arrangements
She was preceded in death by her mother Gladys Davis.

On March 27,2025, she peacefully entered eternal rest. Evelyn
leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Samantha
Reed of Chester Virginia; her son John A. Aikens of Atlanta,
Georgia; her sister Shirley Mitchell (Calvin); brother Marvin
Davis (Rose); two grandchildren, Travis Jerome Fowles of
Raleigh, North Carolina, Alexis Ya'Kira Collins-Melvin of ; two
great-grandchildren Gabriel Summerfield Fowles and
Summerlyn Victoria Fowles of Raleigh, North Carolina; three
nieces, Shana Mitchell of Savannah, Georgia, Joi Andrea Davis

of Stockbridge, Georgia, Taylor Davis of Raleigh, North
Carolina; two nephews; Thomas Mitchell of Savannah , Phillip
Davis of Savannah. Two grandnieces, Samara Mitchell and
Shayla Mitchell of Savannah, Georgia, Two grandnephews,
Michael Hymon and Josh Few of Savannah, Georgia; a special
cousin (sister), Ms. Gladys Stewart of Savannah, Georgia; and a
host of cousins, relatives and other friends.
Stepbrothers: Bobby D (Martha) Alvin of Midway, Georgia,
Darryl (Mary) Alvin, Jimmie Alvin and June (Joe) McClendon
