Loving mother, Ella Mae Steward, passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2023 after a short and sudden illness. Ella Mae was 84 and was surrounded by her loving family members when she passed.

Ella Mae, born to Dorothy Elliotte on August 8, 1938 in Newport Tennessee. She attended and graduated from Cocke County High School. After graduating from high school Ella moved to Akron Ohio.

She was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others. A loyal servant to God, Ella Mae spent many of her hours dedicating her life to the Lord.

For forty years she worked at Saint Thomas Hospital in Akron as an Environmental Health Supervisor. It suited her loving and giving heart. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

Ella Mae is survived by her daughter and husband, Cheryl and Dwayne Herring; grandson and wife, Brandon and Ciejaria Herring, grandson Wesley Herring; great grandsons, Adrian, Darian, and Ian Herring; plus, many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
