. Edward Lee Blackmon, 62, of Hinesville Georgia, passed away on December 16, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.

Edward was born on July 25, 1962 to Mamie and James Blackmon in Lumberton, North Carolina. After graduating from Sleepy Hollow High School in 1980, he went on to join the U.S. Army, where he served from 1981 to 2006 retiring after serving 25 years. After retiring from the Army he joined the civilian side where he worked MWR property book, range control, and DA photography, and finally retiring September 2024 after completing another 18 years of civil service. Once retired from the Army Edward started a photography business, where he was able to combine his passion for photography, sports, and his community.

Edward is survived by his wife Kim Blackmon, his children John Blackmon, and Saray (Keyon) Hendricks as well as his sisters Rosa, Linda (Gene), Alicia, and Kynkisha Blackmon. And is preceded in death by his parents Mamie and James Blackmon, and nephew Rondell Blackmon. He is also survived by a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, childhood friends, and the communities of Hinesville, GA and Tarrytown, NY.
