(Anderson) Miller
December 14, 1926 – December 3, 2023
A life well lived is a gift of love to everyone who comes into contact. Mrs. Edna Mae Miller, 96, of Hinesville, Georgia, is a prime example of a long life, lived to the fullest! & On December 3, 2023, in Wayne County, Georgia God lovingly wrapped our beloved Aunt Edna Mae in His arms and gave her eternal rest.
Mrs. Edna Mae was born in Liberty County, Georgia on December 14, 1926, to Mr. Thomas Anderson and Ms. Shirley Deloach Washington, who both preceded her in death. After graduating from Liberty County High School, she worked several years as a cook in the Liberty County School System before becoming the owner and operator of Miller Funeral Home, along with her husband of many years, Mr. Joseph Miller, who also preceded her in death in 1976.
At an early age Edna Mae gave her life to Christ and became a lifelong member of Aisle of Hope Holiness Church in Hinesville, Georgia. Over the years she enjoyed being in service to those around her by baking the most delicious comfort food. Pound cakes were her specialty, but by far, her favorite hobbies were spending time with her nieces and nephews, cultivating beautiful flowers and collecting dolls.
Edna Mae was wed to Joseph L. Miller and together, they became parents to one child, and grandparents to two. After her husband's death, Edna Mae continued to operate Miller Funeral Home, keeping with the mission to lovingly serve the community into which she was born and raised. After officially retiring in 2019, Edna Mae spent time relaxing with family, baking and gardening. She absolutely loved the beauty of flowers and would spend hours on end enjoying the peaceful serenity of hergarden.
