God saw the road getting rough; the hills were hard to climb. God gently closed your loving eyes and whispered,

On August 3, 2024, Demond West, affectionately known as "Papa" was called home to be with the Lord. Demond was born June 18, 1976 to parents Johnny and Carrie Richardson in Riceboro, GA. His father preceded him in death. He was the youngest of three children.
Demond was educated at Liberty County High School. He was employed at DS Smith in Riceboro for many years. Humble and caring are adjectives used to describe Demond. He enjoyed cooking and was always the one to throw a bar-be-que and invite friends and the entire community.
He is survived by his loving mother, Carrie Richardson, sisters Lenise (Dana) Richardson of Hinesville, GA, Sharonda Richardson of Riceboro, GA. Aunts: Pearlie Axson of Riceboro, GA, Ethel Miller of Greensboro, NC, Linda
(Michael) Walthour of Riceboro, GA, Maxine Saddler of Darien, GA, Edith West of Darien, GA, Alma (Derrick) Daniels of Rex, GA. Uncles: Lonnie Richardson of Riceboro and Richard West of Darien. Three nephews: Marcel, Darin and Kahlil Latimer. Long time companion Christine and kids; and a host of cousins He was also preceded in death by several uncles and aunts.
