attended the Liberty County School System. He moved to Miami in 1957.

Freddie was blessed with two daughters, at an early age, while living in Riceboro, Marilyn Shepard and the late Deloris Simmons Bennett. He later moved to Miami where he met and married his late wife of 54 years, Harriet Goings. To that union three children were born, Felecia (Chan), Tangela (Tan), and Freddie III (Stevie). Freddie always had an entrepreneurial spirit. He loved to work on cars and built a thriving business in automotive maintenance, repair, and detailing. He also built and remodeled homes, some of which he owned and rented. He was a perfectionist and as a general contractor, he was known for his quality work, craftsmanship, and integrity. He was called to be a servant and thus made his work affordable. Freddie believed in family and he was proud to continue to build on the rich carpentry legacy of his father.

One of Freddie's songs was "I love to Praise Him". He not only praised God in song, but praised Him by being of service in the church. He accepted Christ, at a young age and joined St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church ,in Miami, FL where he worked diligently. There he was ordained as a Deacon. He also served as Finance Chairman, Building Committee Leader and multiple other capacities in the church.

In 1991, Freddie moved his family to Savannah, GA where he joined Thankful Missionary Baptist Church. He designed and built the current Media Ministry Room and assisted with the upkeep, maintenance and beautification of the church. He also served as a member of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association, Inc.

As a church servant leader and Bible Scholar, Freddie offered wisdom and guidance, prayer, and unwavering dedication to the church he loved for twenty two years. Deacon Freddie Stevens and his wife are currently members of Kingdom Life Christian Fellowship Church where Charles Roberson, who he has known since 1997, is the Pastor.
