Obituary

Danny West was born on November 18, 1962, to the late Joseph West and Ms. Clara Bacon in Liberty County, Georgia. He transitioned from time to eternity on June 18, 2025 surrounded by his beloved family.

Danny was educated in the Liberty County School System. After graduating high school, he later moved to Richmond Hill, Georgia, gaining employment with TA Truckstop. He later moved to Riceboro, Georgia. He was employed at the Riceboro Paper Mill, now D.S. Smith, as a forklift driver and Bobcat operator. He served there faithfully until he took ill.

Brother Danny gave his life to the Lord early on and had a desire to live a life pleasing to the Lord. He joined the Miracle Deliverance Field Prayer Center, Inc. under the leadership of Pastor Rachael Catherine Hill Fuller, which later became Trueborn Church of Christ Miracle Deliverance Center, Inc. under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Richard Walthour, Jr., with Elder Paul A. Reed now serving as pastor.

Danny had a servant's heart. Even in his suffering, he remained kind, thoughtful, and full of grace. He found peace in God's creation—working outdoors, helping neighbors maintain their landscaping, feeding the birds and ducks, and fishing. He brought joy to those around him with his quiet humor and gentle spirit. His life was a testimony of love, faith, and humble service, and he will be truly missed.

He later met and married his former wife, the late Kathy Evette Morris, and to this union two children were born: Sopheia and Daniel West. He became stepfather to Kennie Morris.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two children, Sopheia of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and Daniel West of Brunswick, Georgia; two granddaughters, Niyah and Mariah of Richmond Hill, Georgia; one grandson, Khalil West of Richmond Hill, Georgia; and one great-granddaughter, Maliah West of Richmond Hill, Georgia. Also left to cherish his memory are his mother, Clara Bacon of Miami, Florida; his brother, Michael Bacon of Savannah, Georgia; his sister, Earline (Leon Griffin) of Brunswick, Georgia; two stepsisters; one stepbrother, Sammie (Mary) Oliver; a devoted aunt and caregiver, Vivian Jones of Riceboro, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.

Special thanks to Georgia Hospice Care of Hinesville, Georgia—especially Nurse Jenna Orem—for your compassion and care, and also to the Dorchester Funeral Home for your exceptional service and patience.
