Obituary

Mrs. Daisy Mae Johnson was born October 18, 1943 in Georgetown, South Carolina, to the marital union between the late William Armstrong, Jr and the late Mrs. Esther Armstrong.

At the age of eight she joined Stephen AME Church. She was very active in the various organizations. She was educated at J. B. Beck Elementary School and graduated from Howard High School, both in Georgetown, S.C.

In 1965 she married the late Master Sgt. Willie B. Johnson and their union was blessed with three children. Her husband was transferred to Fort Stewart, Ga., therefore the family relocated to Hinesville, Ga Daisy was employed at Child Development Center, Fort Stewart, Ga. She soon and gave her full attention to her family.

They joined Full Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, Hinesville, Ga., under the leadership of Pastor A. D. Shaw, Senior Pastor. She was a long term member of the church. She was on the Mother's Board and the Women's Choir. She was especially dedicated to her church and loved God's people.

On February 5, 2025, she departed this life and joined her husband and our Savior in his Home.

She leaves many to mourn her passing and to celebrate her Homegoing. Her devoted children include, Thomas (Sonya) Armstrong, Karen Johnson (deceased), Kenneth (Peggy) Johnson, and Jason (Sandra) Johnson and her adopted daughter Mary Armstrong Johnson, and 10 grandchildren, and 13 great- grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sister Daisy was truly loved and will be truly missed.

"May the Lord be close to your broken heart and save you in your time of sorrow, as it says in Psalm 34:18, The Lord is near to the broken hearted and saves the crushed in spirit."
