Mr. CoulterJoe LouisGreen Jr.entered intoeternal rest on Saturday,February20, 2021 at his residents inHinesville, Georgiasurroundedby his lovedones who will continue to honor his legacy.



Mr.Coulter Joe Louis Green Jr,also known by many that loved him asColey orJoewasbornMay 2, 1941, Bishopville, South CarolinatothelateCoulter JL GreenSr.and Carry IsaacGreen.Coulter was education in theSumterCountypublicschoolsystemand was agraduate ofLincolnHigh Schoolclass of1961,immediatelyafter high school, Coulterwasawarded a scholarship toattendedMorris Collegein Sumter South Carolinawherehe played football and majored inphysicaleducation. In 1963he was drafted intothe U.S. Armyand later married thelove of his life Bertha Mae Dingle Greenof Sumter South Carolina.Their union wasblessed with fivewonderful lovingchildren.



Coulter served in the U. S. Armyfor 26 years, retiringat the rank ofFirst Sergeant (1SG). Heservedinthe VietnamWar, Korea,German,andHonduras. Heheld a host of leadership position throughout hisU. S. Army career, always leading from the front.Hewas awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal 3 oak leaf cluster,VietnamServiceMedal,Army GoodConduct Medal,Republicof Vietnam campaign Medal,NCO Development Ribbon, OverSeas Ribbon, Airborne Wings, CombatInfantryBadge,andExpertInfantryBadge.Afterretiring from the U.S.Army,he wasemployedby Georgia Pacific asChiefof Securityservicing for 20 years untilfullretirement.



Coulterleaves to celebrate his memory,a lovingdedicated wife of 60 years, Bertha Mae Greenfrom Sumter, South Carolina.Coulterschildren;Mabel(Denise)Veal, Coulter(Simona)(Vincent)Green,Marvel(Albert)M.Slaughter, Kimberly(Shaffer)A.Clark,andChristopher R.Green.His grandchildren;BrandonRichardsonCoulterGreenJr., Eriell Miller, Destiney Veal, BrandiSlaughter, KarriGreen,Randy Veal Jr.,Shaffer Clark IV,JacobGreen,KamiyahHollyfield,Kayla Hollyfield andKylee Hollyfieldand a host of other family and friends.
