Obituary

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever."
— 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NIV)

Corine Hudson Williams was born on August 12, 1946, in Liberty County, Georgia, to the late Willie Hudson and Mary Ellen Wynn. She was the eldest daughter of seven siblings.

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, she peacefully entered into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Alexander Dexter Hudson, and her precious great-granddaughter, Jaila Anniebelle LeCount.

At an early age, Corine accepted Christ and became a member of First African Missionary Baptist Church in Riceboro, Georgia. She was educated in the Liberty County School System. As a young woman, she moved to Saint Simon's Island, Georgia, where she began her career at Rich-SeaPak Shrimp & Seafood Company in Brunswick, Georgia. Through hard work and dedication, she became a Group Lead and retired after more than 30 years of faithful service.

During her time on Saint Simon's Island, she met the love of her life, Mr. Ernest Williams. Together, they built a beautiful life, sharing more than 50 years of marriage.

Corine was known for her warm spirit, her gift for cooking, and her love of entertaining family and friends. She never met a stranger, and her kindness touched countless lives. As a new resident of Saint Simon's Island, she met Mrs. Inez, and from that moment, their lifelong friendship blossomed into a bond as close as family—testament to Corine's open heart and the love she poured into others.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband, Ernest Williams; her children, Joe Lee Hudson, Gwen Brown, Cassandra Thornton, Avis Matthews (Bobby), Rhonda Anderson (Elijah), and Warren Waye (Patricia); her siblings, Leona Hudson, Hessie West (Alexander), Willie Hudson, Jr., Birdie Mae Brown, Eddie Lee Hudson (Shirley), Ronnie Hudson, and Debra Holmes (Roy); sisters-in-law, Ruthie Downer and Jerlean Lyons; brothers-in-law, Johnnie Lee Williams (Annabell) and Melvin Williams. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
