Welcome
April 11, 1943 – September 4, 2023
Corine Welcome, a beloved daughter of Ludowici, Georgia, entered this world on April 11, 1946, and peacefully departed on September 4, 2023. She was born to the late Daisy Welcome, who preceded her in death, and her roots in Ludowici ran deep.
Corine's journey with the Lord began early in her life when she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior. She found her spiritual home at St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church in Ludowici.&
Her educational journey led her through the halls of the Long County School System, and she proudly graduated from Walker High School in 1961.She completed cosmetology school soon after high school, although she chose not to work in that profession.Corine was a woman of many passions, but her deep love for music always shone brightly in her life. Her joyful and bubbly personality left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In her adult life, Corine made Atlanta, Georgia, her home, where she dedicated nearly 35 years of her life as a unit secretary at Grady Health. Her dedication to her work and her commitment to her community were truly commendable.
Corine's memory will forever be cherished by her surviving loved ones. She leaves behind her dear brother, Clyde Welcome of Oahu, Hawaii; Crystal Gaulden, a special friend fromAtlanta, GA, who lovingly cared for "the sisters"; her first cousin, Rev. Frank Jones; and a close cousin-in-law, Mrs. Dora Jones, wife of the late Morris Jones. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
In Corine Welcome, we remember a woman of faith, a music enthusiast, a dedicated healthcare professional, and a radiant soul who brought joy to the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
Special thanks to her dear and close friends, Loretta Keith and Rita Sampson, who stood by her side until the end, offering love and support throughout her life's journey.
