& Charlie Gaulden, Jr. was called to eternal rest on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the VA hospital in New Orleans, LA. He was born July 28, 1945 in Hinesville to the late Charlie C. Gaulden, Sr and Alberta G. Mullins. He was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. He was a 1963 Graduate of Liberty County High School and served his country in the United States Air Force.

Charlie is a graduate of Savannah State College receiving a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts Education June 1970 and Graduate of the University of Missouri with a Doctorate of Education.

His passion in life was educating young minds as he taught at Savannah State College, Alcorn State University and retired from Jackson State University. Charlie leaves behind his children: Charro Gaulden, Chad Smith, Jacksonville, FL, Charwana Gaulden, Charlotte, NC, Charmel Gaulden, New Orleans LA, and Charcana Gaulden, Savannah, GA; two aunts: Lula Godbolt of Midway, GA and Beulah Sanders of Augusta, GA; one uncle: James Gaulden of Midway, GA; two sisters: Roberta G. King of Savannah GA and Regina M. Pearson of Gordon, GA; one child he raised: Tarvio Gates of Pensacola FL; six grandchildren: Dejah Gaulden, Alexander Everhart, Marlene Everhart, Canyon Lilly Gaulden, Lincoln Lee Gaulden, and Olivia Smith; one great grandchild: Cameron Hutt and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
