Charles Junior
Mallard, Jr.
March 11, 1957 – December 19, 2025
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."
— Proverbs 3:5–6
Charles Junior Mallard Jr. was born on March 11, 1957, to his loving parents, Mr. Charles Mallard Sr.
and Lora Mae McClelland-Mallard. On December 19, 2025, Charles peacefully transitioned from this
life, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, service, and unforgettable character.
Charles was a proud graduate of Topeka Tilton High School, where he played football and developed
the discipline and determination that carried him throughout life. After high school, Charles honorably
served his country by joining the United States Army, where he fulfilled his Military Occupational
Specialty (MOS) with pride. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to service by
working as a contractor for the United States government, where he was known for his strong work
ethic, dependability, and hands-on skill.
Charles was admired for his smooth style, quick wit, and larger-than-life personality. He had a deep
love for his family and enjoyed his cowboy hats, cowboy boots, and old-school cars. His presence
brought laughter, wisdom, and comfort, and he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Charles leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Patricia Sanders Mallard; his three
children, Charlene Mallard, Charles Stephon Mallard, and Denzel Johnson; his stepchildren,
Michael (Felecia), Latrica, and Connie; his beloved grandchildren, Jermaine Jr., Zaevion, Kemiyah,
Trinity, Jashala, Deshawn, Jaedyn, Da'Kari, Vonzell, Delicia (Antonio), Whitney, Kayla, and
Eboni; his cherished great-grandchildren, Jaden, Kharryngton, Cadence, Kynnedy, Preston, Elijah,
Isaiah, and Zyir; his loving brother, Christopher Thurman; his sisters, Irma McClelland, Earlean
Mallard-Sartin, Dorothy Mallard-Wilson, Sheila Mallard-Smith, Sharon Mallard, Tisha Mallard,
and Charlotte Mallard; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Pearlean Mallard and Mearlean
Mallard-Magee; his brothers, Chester James Fills, Reginald Mallard, Rickey Mallard, and Corey
Mallard; his niece, Sylvia Arnold; his nephew, Jeffrey Irvin; and his grandparents, Emmanuel and
Susie McClelland, and Ace and Octavia Mallard.
