In Loving Memory of Caroline Veronica Jackson-Howell

Caroline Veronica Jackson was born on June 18, 1963 in West Palm Beach, Florida to Roseanner Bowers (Jackson) and Andrew Jackson. She graduated from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, and left for college up north. She then joined the U.S. Army on August 18, 1981.

When she was stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas, Caroline met Wayne Howell Jr., and they married on May 13, 1991; the two lovebirds’ family grew in leaps and bounds with the addition of Caroline’s previous children, Nicole and Keshia,Wayne’s son, Wayne Howell III, and the arrival of Kiera Howell, rounding out the family thread.

The family spent many years traveling due to both Caroline and Wayne’s military duties. While serving in the military, Caroline held many duty positions: squad leader, platoon sergeant, first sergeant support operations senior NCO, demonstrating the courage, discipline, and commitment that became such an important part of who she was. After completing her military career, she entered retirement on April 30, 2002, carrying with her the honor of having served her country and the memories of the people and experiences that shaped her life. This discipline led her to start her own business as a PPA, becoming a professional personal assistant to anyone in Hinesville who just needed an extra hand in getting errands done. Her sharp business suits, well-styled hair, and charming personality became the new norm for this next phase of her life.

Caroline continued to celebrate with her family throughout the remaining years of her retirement. Between Orlando, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia, and all the other cities in between, she celebrated birthdays, attended weddings, and planned baby showers. Her love language as a giver was widely known, and because of her constant giving, she birthed a legacy of givers. Through her indomitable spirit, she taught her family, those born by blood and those born through bond, that although quitting could be an option, choosing to persevere was her preferred choice. She persevered in making sure that her family could be successful in the ways that mattered to them. Her children’s friends became her family, she never met a stranger, and her heart was always open.

Although she was preceded in death by her mother Roseanner Bowers, and her sisters Bridgette (Larry) Wallace and Patricia Jackson, Caroline leaves behind a beautiful legacy through the family she cherished: her husband Wayne Howell, her birth children, Nicole (Brandon) Cooper-Dakus, Keshia (Derrick) Howell, and Kiera Howell, her step-son Wayne Howell III, her bonus daughter Mariama (Isaac) White, and her grandchildren, Ja’Nya Cooper, Moses Cooper, Reign Cooper, Teigen Cooper, and Reigen Cooper-Dakus; Derrick Grant III and Kennedy Grant; Nariah Howell, Navi Howell, Noah Howell, and Myles Howell; Ivy Butler; and Jayden and Kiyan White–who all brought great joy and meaning to her life. She also leaves behind her siblings Pamela (Keith) Stallings, William Timmons Sr, Valerie (Versia) Mayo, Leslie Joy McNeil along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Although she is no longer with us, Caroline's love remains in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a blessing, her memory is a treasure, and she will be deeply missed.

Rest peacefully, Caroline. Your service is complete, your legacy lives on, and your love will remain forever.
