Carol Ann (Fleming) Gilchrist was born October ,16, 1959 to the late Elijah Fleming Sr and Martha J ( Ross) Howard in Darien, Ga. She entered her eternal rest on Monday, January, 9, 2023. Carol was educated by the Mcintosh County school system.She was employed for many years by the Midway Nursing Home. Carol was a very supportive military wife that traveled to many different states to support her husband during his time in the military she also obtained awards from the Military.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bernard Gilchrist, Father Elijah Fleming Sr. One sister Laura Armstrong; Grandparents Henry and Aldonia Fleming; James Ross and Julia Mae (Grant) Holcombe; One brother in-law James (Baldy) Gilchrist.
Carol married Bernard Gilchrist in 1981. This union was blessed with three children; One daughter Nateishia Ross Jones and two sons Gary Gilchrist and Lanard Gilchrist Sr. After many years of traveling supporting her husband as a military wife. Carol and Bernard made Walthourville, Georgia there permanent home.
Carol was a kind loving devoted wife, mother,sister, cousin and friend. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She made the best gumbo you will ever eat.
