Carla Renee Daniels was born on December 26, 1962 in Waycross GA.
&
She entered into paradise on November 28, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Carla is resting with her father (Felton Monroe), Step-Father (Willie Fickling), brother (Charles Fickling).
Carla was educated at Maria Regina high school and was a member of the marching band, where she played the clarinet. She obtained her high school diploma, graduating with the class of 1980 and later furthered her education while attending Savannah Technical Institute in Savannah, Georgia; studying Early Childhood education.
May 11, 1983, Carla married Marion Daniels at South Hempstead Baptist Church located in Hempstead, Long Island. Carla and Marion spent 15 years in their marriage and created their two beautiful daughters, LaShonda Daniels and Lakia Daniels.
Carla served her country in the United States Army from 1996 to 2002 as a Logistical Inventory Specialist. Beginning in 2002, Carla began working as a Corrections Officer with the Georgia Department of Corrections. Later in her career, Carla took on a a new adventure as an Administrative Clerk I with Coastal State Prison. During her career, Carla received promotions to Administrative Clerk II, and Administrative Clerk III. Carla's 19 years of service at Coastal State Prison were served with integrity, grace and resilience.
Carla was known for her radiant smile, infectious laughter, positive outlook on life, bargain shopping, traveling, whether it involved road trips, plane rides or her favorite, cruise ships. Some of Carla's most memorable vacations consisted of trips to Madrid, Spain, Jamaica, Aruba, Curacao and many more! During her travels, Carla found great joy in touring historic landmarks and understanding the history of the people.
Carla leaves to continue her legacy beloved mother, Carolyn Fickling, her two daughters LaShonda Daniels and Lakia Daniels, her sisters Brenda Fickling-Christian (Husband - Charles Christian) and Renee Driskell, brothers Donald Fickling, Willie Fickling Jr., Davey Monroe and her loving nieces, Brianna Christian, Kayla Christian and other family members, friends, coworkers and her church family.
