Obituary

Jeremiah Laviante Gilyard was born on July 26 th , 2005, to Michelle Gilyard in Fort Stewart,
Georgia. He was raised by his loving grandmother Sandra Gilyard in whom he had a special bond
with, she raised him as a son and a friend. Jeremiah was such a sweet and loving young man. He
completed his education in The Liberty County School system. He graduated from Bradwell
Institute on May 17, 2024. Jeremiah was employed at Huey's Magoos and enjoyed his job there.
Jeremiah was very ambitious and lived outside of the box, he wanted to achieve and do many
things, he planned to attend culinary school to further his educational goals, he also wanted to
become a special education teacher. He also had a desire to manage chain restaurants, he
wanted to do everything. He was a hard-working young man, with an outstanding work ethic to
match. He was so loveable and treated everyone with love and respect. He will truly be missed
by all those who have had the privilege to experience him.


Jeremiah departed this life on June 15, 2024, to be with our heavenly father. He is preceded in
death by his father Anton Tarver and Aunt Cassandra Tarver, his maternal great grandmothers
Letitia Brown and Gladys Gilyard Jones. He leaves a host of family and friends to cherish his
memories, which includes his mother Michelle Gilyard of Hinesville, GA, three sisters Zykia
Stokes and Kourtney Jackson both of Hinesville, GA and Dynazia Gilyard (Cousin/sister) of
Lawrenceville, GA, One brother Ezra Gilyard of Hinesville, GA Paternal grandparents Mattie and
Veston Tarver of Hinesville, GA, Maternal grand parents Sandra Gilyard of Allenhurst, GA,
Anthoney (Darleen) Gilyard of Chesapeake, VA, two uncles Tyrone Gilyard of Atlanta, GA and
Eduardo Hinds of San Antonio, TX, Three Aunts Shonaykha Gilyard and Vontricia Edwards both
of Hinesville, GA and Taikha Gilyard of Atlanta, GA. Several special Aunts Diane Knight, Celeste
Flowers, Eunice Dudley and many more, his Godparents Kevin and Charlene Apparicio, one of
his favorite teachers Beth McCallum (Ms. Beth), Patricia Smalls (his former daycare teacher) in
which Jeremiah maintained contact throughout his life with both, and a host of cousins, family,
friends and colleagues.
