Lady Brenda S. Holmes Oliver


A Time to be Born


Brenda Holmes Oliver was born on October 18, 1958, in Midway, Ga. to the late Mr. Tom Sr. and the late Mrs. Magdalene Holmes. She was the third child of seven children born to this union and the youngest daughter.



A Time to Learn and be Progressive


Brenda received her education through the Liberty County School System and graduated in 1976 from Bradwell Institute.



Brenda received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the tender age of nine years old and was baptized at the St. James Community Church of Christ HolinessUntothe Lord under the leadership of the late Bishop James and Mother Pearl Kelly. She loved her Lord and believed in giving Him all the praise and glory.



Sis. Brenda was our modern-day Dorcus. She was ingenious at sewing and her finished products truly displayed the love she had for her gift.



A Time to Love and Live



On August 7, 1982, she was joined in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Horace "Rocky" Oliver. They recently celebrated 40 years of marital bliss. Tothis union one son was born,Keldrin"Rocky" Oliver.



Sis. Brenda, as she was affectionatelyknown, lovedto sing, cook, and decorate. She was very comfortable in social settings. Her beautiful smile was an asset to her personality and charm. Sis. Brenda supported her husband faithfully in tent revivals, where many souls were saved and added to the Kingdom of God. Because of her wisdom and nurturing spirit, she mentored young ladies, demonstrating compassionate and unconditional love. Lady Brenda exemplified the epitome of a "pastor's wife" through her support of her husband's pastoral ministry, unwavering convictions, and love of people.



A Time to Die



Sis. Brenda lived for the day when she would beseeHer loving Savior face to face. On Friday evening, October 28, 2022, she slipped out of time into eternity.



Preceding her in death were her parents and her oldest sibling,RualLeon Golden.



Brenda leaves to mourn and cherish her memories a devoted husband, Overseer Horace "Rocky" Oliver; a son,Keldrin"Rocky" Oliver of Midway.GA,;one sister, Judy Lloyd; four brothers, Tom jr. (Rochelle) Holmes, Hinesville, GA, Ronald (Sharon) Holmes and Malcolm Holmes, Midway, GA and Herman (fiancée -Crystal) Holmes, Hinesville, GA; fourgrandchildren, Kaylee Oliver, Jaylon Watkins, Jayda Watkins and Jordon Watkins; seven sisters-in-law, Carolyn Bowling, Georgia McCrea-Rodgers, MargaretSellow, Janie Golden, Marie Collins andFaniePonder; three brothers-in-law Willie Oliver, Julian Oliver, Walter Oliver. Three uncles, Fred Golden, Willie Edward Golden and Arthur Lee Annie Jane) Golden. Goddaughters and Godsons - Shonda Lee, Cassandra Holmes, Latashia Golden, Mary
Elizabeth Roach,JamaneScott, and DemetrisKirtz; a host of other Godchildren, nieces,nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
