Obituary

God saw the road was getting long, the hill was hard to climb. He gently closed his eyes and whispered, "Peace Be Thine".


Bobby Wayne Dotson&was born in McCool, Mississippi on August 22, 1953, to the lateBarthnue"Ike" Dotson and Ida B. Dotson.Bobby was their youngest son of 6 children.Bobby treasured his relationships with his siblings and their children.


Bobbyattended the Attala County School District and was baptizedat an early age at Abraham Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He departed this life on March 26,2023,at the age of 69.


Bobbyenlisted in the US Army in1974 as a 63H, Track Vehicle Repairer and retired in 1993withanhonorable discharge, Rank E-7.Bobby continued to serve the military community through contracting work on Fort Stewart, GA after retirement.He was a member of the Veterans ofForeignWars (VFW). He wasalso a honorary member of the sheriff department.


Bobbymarried JaniceHenderson on August 10,1981,in Colorado Springs, Co. From this union they were blessed with 3 children,Erick,Quiana,and Dwaynewho werenurtured,adored,and loved.


Bobbyand Janice along with their children joined Powerhouse of Deliverance Church, Hinesville GA in 1992. He never hesitatedto offerhis assistance when called uponby Bishop and Dr. Napper.


After retirement,Bobbyfilled his days with loving and serving his family and friends. He totally enjoyed spending time with his beloved wifeJanice– Although she would playfully say, "He is so aggravating." Bobby was an awesome provider and ensured his family was safe and loved. Many years following their marriage, Bobby,Janice,and family discussed opening a business together.They alltook their business venture seriously, and in2007,"A Taste of Philly" was born;A restaurantspecializingin signature Philly culture. Bobby and his family workedtirelesslyto make their business a successand, God willing, it will be,for many years to come.Bobby loved his family with all his heartand soul; His lovewas strong and fierce. Being a dad andmost of all,a grandad was his favorite rolein life.Bobbyalwaysencouraged his children frequently. He would remind his children – "I appreciate you", "I believe in you", and of course "I love You."Bobby's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the "Applesof his Eye".Hegave them asenseof history and provided a vital connection to their past. He was playful,nurturing and loving,butno doubt,the disciplinarian of the family.Bobby was accepting,patient, andastrongpilar of stability to hisfamilyand hiscommunity(especially,Mills Creek). His grandchildren considered him the"fun andMEAN"grandad.Bobby was often seen in his front yard,cutting the grass,wateringtheflowers,andplaying with the grans. He took great pleasure in fixing their bikes,charging theirmotorizedcars,andeventossing a ball.If you were to ask Janice,therewasn't a moment that they had a dead batteryfor their train sets,remote control cars,andgames etc.Grandad had ALL the batteries!The love and joy Bobby experiencedwith familywas without doubt,reciprocated.It wasn'tunusualto find Bobbyrelaxing in his quiet place"TheGarage", sipping on cools drinks, listening to Southern Soul, Gospel, and Blues music. His relaxing never lasted long,as his neighbors – who loved and respected him–would ask him to fix a bike, inflate a tire, changeoil,or even inspect a vehicle they werecontemplating purchasing.You could borrowalmost anythingfrom Bobby, but don'tthink you were going to keep it, because his name was either written or stenciled onEVERYTHING!NOTE:His children will be collectingeverything stenciled"BobbyW.Dotson"������.Withouthesitation,Bobby wasanextremelyfaithful andadownrightloyal manto his family and friends, hewill be greatly missed!


Bobby was preceded in deathby hiselderbrother, James LarryDotson.Heleaves to cherishhismemory:His loving wife Janice,threechildren, ErickSr.(Kristie), Quiana"The Favorite", and Dwayne;one brother,BartheticDotson(Irene),threesisters, Patricia(Willie),Darnichi(Nora), and Bonnie (Reggie);fivebrothers-in-law: Gary (Brenda), Kenny (Gwen), Harvey, Keith (Missy), and Brian; two sisters-in-law: Carla (Rick), and Yvette (David); seven grandchildren: Isaiah, Aaliyah,ErickJr."Champ",Keiara"Self",Kaiden"Pooh",Dallas"DJ",andKorey;four great-grandchildren: Isaiah"IJ", Kayson"Kay",Aalaina"Cita", andKyng"Brudder";five god children:Nacole, Monic, Larry"Lit"(Ashley), Lawrence"Shorty", and Janell;ninegod grandchildren:Darian,Chris, "Bong"Jameka, Adrian, Candice, Christopher,Josiah, Jahir, and Larry III"3";one aunt: DebraHannah-Pettis;close friends: Trish"Homie"(Mackand Mikey),Vickie"BinLaden",George "Top",Charles"Bo",DeOtis"Lil Budd",Ray,Ella "Rev",Larry"Big Foot",Darryl D.,Keone"Blockhead",Harley"Big Dogg", Kevin "Toine",Mr. Ricky (Our Handy Man"and ahost ofnieces,nephews, and cousins.
