On Friday, January 19, 2024, the Heavenly Father reached out for Bessie Bacon, but didn't take her home with Him until Sunday, January 21, 2023.
Bessie was born August 22, 1934 to Sam and Diana
Singleton Golden. Bessie was raised up in a Christian,
loving environment. She was in St. Peter's A.M.E.
Church from a child. She attended school and graduated
form Liberty County High School. She moved to New
York in 1955. There she met Amos Bacon once more
and they became close and eventually they married.
Bessie was employed as a CNA for private patients. She
loved her job working with the elders. She worked until
moving back to Georgia in 1999 to 466 Timberlake
Circle, Hinesville, Georgia. Amos and Bessie stayed
together until January 19, 2023.
Bessie Bacon is preceded in death by her mother, Diana
Singleton Golden, father, Samuel Golden, and her
brothers, Stafford Golden, Sr., Willie Golden and Ernest
Golden.
Loving and cherishing her memories are her darling
husband: Amos Bacon, Jr. of Hinesville, Georgia;
daughter: Deborah King of Midway, Georgia;
granddaughter: Shareefa King of Brooklyn, New York,
grandson: James King III of Norfolk, Virginia; great
grandsons: Tashawn Shareef, James and Amos King of
Norfolk, Virginia; sister: Albertha G. Bacon of Midway,
Georgia; goddaughter: Rosalyn Scott of Midway,
Georgia; sister-in-law: Vicia Hunt of Midway, Georgia;
brother-in-law: Richard Bacon of Midway, Georgia and
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
