Annie Pearl
Jones
Aug 3, 1955 — Dec 17, 2025
Annie Pearl Boxton was born in Savannah, Georgia on August 3, 1955. She was the only child by adoption to the late Miss Elizabeth Boxton and Mr. Boxton. She attended the public school system at Tompkins High School and graduated with honors on June 6, 1974. After graduating she wanted to attend college majoring in architect but due to her mother’s illness she became her caretaker at home for 23 years. Miss Elizabeth Boxton passed away in the year 2002 and Mr. Boxton passed away 1951, preceding Annie Pearl in death.
Annie Pearl Boxton Jones passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 9:30 p.m. at home where she was comfortable. She lived a long life assisting others when they needed help the most. She didn’t grumble or complain, but God came and took her home and took all her pain away that she was dealing with for over 23 years.
Miss Annie Pearl Boxton Jones has been through so many difficult surgeries on her body that God saw fit that it was time for her to come home, yet she fought the good fight, and she did not give up at all, it was all God’s doing. He knew it was the right time.
Annie at an early age of 12 she gave her life to God. She excepted him as her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. She attended St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of overseer Rev. Dr. Lexcie Aiken for several years. This was considered their family church.
Annie Pearl sang in the choir for years from a teenager and was also active in the church. Annie loved going to church, she enjoyed it so much until she couldn’t attend anymore due to her medical illness. But even at home, she still worshiped the Lord Jesus Christ and prayed, fasted, and observed communion. That’s how much she understood our Lord Jesus Christ, she didn’t stop no matter what! She knew the true meaning of forgiveness and love.
Annie Pearl worked at the Best Western of Georgia and also at St. Joseph/Candler for years of service until her illness started giving her problems that didn’t allow her to continue to work. She was a devoted mother, housewife and much more full-time and she took care of everyone in her home.
Annie Pearl Boxton met Ronald Jones on August 1, 1985 just before her birthday. They dated for one year and after that they joined in holy matrimony on August 9, 1986 and stayed married for 41 years. Annie was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, godmother and everybody else’s mother that had kids. She was that type of person, she kept that beautiful smile, that if you saw her again you were sure to get another one. She shined when she stepped in a room and was not a stranger to anyone she came in contact with. Annie was a very strong individual but if you came to her the wrong way of course she held up her own and still love you the same way over and over.
She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Lucinda Hammonds, biological siblings, Patricia Washington, and Diane Harrell and nephew Dewlon Donnell.
Annie Pearl Boxton Jones' passing is a deep personal loss to her family and friends. She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories one daughter and one son by adoption: Nicole Elizabeth Jones and Ronald Lee Jones Jr.; Godson: Henderson Jones; stepson and his wife: Kelvin Washington and Jamie Washington; granddaughters: Kayla Washington, Kareah Washington, and Kelis Washington of Winston-Salem North Carolina, Kailey and Isaac of Charleston South Carolina and Raleigh North Carolina; biological siblings: Vernon Harrell of New York, James Harrell of Virginia, and Belvery Lucas of Virginia; nieces: Jasmine Frazier-Marcial of New York and Savior Knight of Virginia; nephews: Lamont Harrell of Hawaii, Michael Harrell.
