Andrea Helen Porter was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 28, 2020. She passed peacefully surrounded by her daughters and 6 close family members at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah, GA at the age of 81. Andrea Helen Porter was born on May, 3 1939 in Queens, NY to the late David Suber and Juanita Jackson-Suber. She was the baby of 6 to the late Alvin, Norman,David, Dolores and Janet. Andrea attended Public School 189 between Lenox and 7th Ave., Junior High School 136, 8th and Lenox and Yorkville High School in Manhattan. At the age of 17 she met the love of her life the late Benjamin Porter (Teddy). They wedded on October 3, 1959. Andrea and Benjamin then began to start their family. Andrea has worked over the years as a school crossing guard, special needs bus driver and a home attendant. Andrea was a loving, caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family. She was strong willed and very independent. She also loved the Lord. She was very into reading her scriptures in the bible and loved praying. Always happy to talk about God. She was always glad to see company and family that would stop by and never want them to go. Andrea was very determined to live against all odds against her. She fought a very strong fight for the last 5 years and won every battle until December 28th when God called her home and she answered the call. She leaves behind 4 children and a step daughter, 2 sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law: TonJa R. Jones, Thomasina Porter-Dawson, Benjamin T. Porter, Jr., Darcel B. Miller, Kieviet Driskoll, Kevin C.
