Albert
Golden
September 7, 1942 – January 14, 2024
Albert Golden Jr entered into this world on October 7th, 1942 to the late Albert Golden Sr. and Lucy James Golden. On Sunday, January 14th, 2024 he was called from labor to reward. Albert grew up in the McIntosh community of Midway. He was educated in the Liberty County school system. After graduating from Liberty County High School, Albert moved to New York where he would meet his wife, Lilla Golden. Years later he moved his family back to his home in the Holmestown community. He was a faithful member of the St James Community Church.
Albert retired as supervisor at the Hinesville Public Works department. He knew the water system so well that even after retiring, he would still get calls from hisformer co-workers to help troubleshoot problems. Albert was loved by many from family and friends to the delivery drivers that would drop off packages. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lilla and his two brothers Joseph Golden and Harry Law.
He is survived by his daughters Shaneeka (Christopher) Crawford of Atlanta, Diane Smiley of Hinesville, Sharon Heard of Warner Robins, Tracey (Matthew) Pinkney of Atlanta and Bridgette Bush of Hinesville; sons Rodney (Loretta) Bush of Columbia S.C. and Jerome Bush of Atlanta; a grandson raised as a son Jerod Bush of Atlanta; two aunts Maggie Sumpter and Rachel James of Midway; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
