William Abner Washington
Obituary
William A. Washington, Sr., age 86, entered eternal rest on January 30, 2023, at his residence in Savannah, Ga.
He was born in Albany, GA to the late Mr. William Levy and Johnnie Ethel Grier Washington on January 8, 1937. He later relocated to Savannah, GA, where he met the love of his life, his late wife, Lillian Washington, and was happily married for 51 years.
William was a United State Marine, where he served honorably. Upon leaving the U.S. Marine Corp, William began his new endeavor with the Chatham County School System. William worked at Spencer Elementary, Tompkins Highschool, Groves Highschool, and Secondary Technical School, all within Savannah.
William was proceeded in death by his wife, Lillian Richardson Washington and the entirety of his siblings, Ernest Pratt, Johnnie Eloise Byrd, and Geneva Washington Eason.
William leaves to cherish his memories his three sons and a host of grandchildren, great children, nieces,and nephews.
