Tara Lynette Phillips-Baker (“Tee” “Ternette”) was born July 5, 1964, to the late Sheila Mae Goodin-Phillips and Robert S. Phillips in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
She earned her education and diploma in Hodgenville, Kentucky within LaRue County School System, where she was an all-star basketball and track star, who graduated Class of 1982 and earned her cosmetology license in Radcliff, Kentucky.
Tara relocated to Georgia to further pursue her career and during her transition, she became a member of Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Church in
Hinesville, Georgia. Tara worked a variety of occupations from being a manager at Captain Ds, working as a full-time cosmetologist, and working for Ft. Stewart at Balfour Beatty. Tara enjoyed being a green thumb, shooting her guns, singing and taking spare of the moment trips with her dog
whom she cherished Gia Lynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sheila Mae Goodin-Phillips, Robert S. Phillips, Sr., and son Daylan Tyrone-Louis Baker.
Tara leaves her loving husband of 35 years Harlan T. Baker of Walthourville, GA; daughter: Tyra Lynnae’ Baker of Walthourville; GA, two step- daughters: LaKeisha Baker of Hinesville, GA and Charita Baker of Columbus, GA; sister: Vanessa Reynolds of Hinesville, GA; brother: Robert Phillips, Jr. of Walthourville, GA; 2 sisters-in- law: Lillian Baker of Allenhurst, GA; Tammy Baker of Hinesville, GA, 3 uncles and 1 aunt of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and a heap of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to cherish her legacy.
